Conifer Konstruktion Nig. Ltd is pleased to announce the successful virtual signing of a Project Management Consultancy Agreement with Platform Petroleum Ltd for the proposed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Building at Obonoma Town, Akuku Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State. This milestone marks the beginning of what promises to be a collaborative and impactful partnership between two organizations committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects within the Nigerian oil and gas sector.

The contract signing, which took place virtually on Wednesday, 4th March 2025, solidifies Conifer Konstruktion’s role as the Project Management Consultant for the ICT building project, a strategic infrastructure development aimed at supporting the digital transformation and Corporate Social Responsibility objectives of Platform Petroleum Ltd.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Conifer Konstruktion Nig. Ltd by its Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Okoye Chukwunonso I. O., while Engr. Idowu Odumboni, Chief Operating Officer of Platform Petroleum Ltd, signed on behalf of the client. This project reinforces Conifer Konstruktion’s growing reputation as a trusted partner in delivering efficient, quality-driven, and stress-free construction projects for corporate clients across Nigeria, especially within the oil and gas industry.

Project Overview

Platform Petroleum Ltd is one of Nigeria’s indigenous oil and gas exploration and production companies, playing a key role in the country’s energy landscape. The construction of the ICT Building at Obonoma Town aligns with Platform Petroleum’s vision of strengthening local capacity and investing in infrastructure that supports overall operational excellence and digital transformation.

The proposed ICT Building will serve as a technology hub that enhances operational efficiency, fosters knowledge sharing, and improves service delivery in the host community and beyond. The facility will integrate modern ICT infrastructure with functional spaces designed to support administrative operations, technical services, and collaborative and educational activities.

Conifer Konstruktion’s Scope of Services

As the Project Management Consultant, Conifer Konstruktion Nig. Ltd is entrusted with the critical responsibility of providing comprehensive project management, civil/structural engineering consultancy, and technical oversight for the entire project lifecycle.

Our key responsibilities under this contract include:

Project Planning and Coordination

Conifer Konstruktion will oversee the entire planning phase of the project, ensuring that the design and construction process aligns with Platform Petroleum’s project objectives, budget, and timeline. This involves:

• Developing the Project Implementation Plan (PIP)
• Defining project milestones and deliverables
• Establishing a realistic project schedule
• Coordinating design submissions from various consultants
• Identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies

Design Review and Value Engineering

A critical part of our consultancy role will be to review architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs to ensure they meet both local and international standards.

Through our value engineering process, we will:

• Optimize design proposals to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising quality
• Ensure the structural and MEP designs align with the project’s functional requirements
• Recommend alternatives that improve energy efficiency and sustainability
• Verify that the design meets all regulatory and safety standards applicable to the oil and gas industry

Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance

Conifer Konstruktion will deploy experienced engineers and project managers to the site to monitor construction activities and ensure strict adherence to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

Our quality assurance responsibilities include:

• Supervising the construction of all structural components, including the raft foundation system, beams, and columns
• Ensuring compliance with Nigerian building codes and oil and gas safety regulations

• Certifying work progress for interim and final payments

Contract Administration and Cost Control
